Bruce Dodd

Bruce has practised almost exclusively in family law for over 25 years.

Bruce has a broad practice across all aspects of family law. As a Nationally Accredited Mediator and registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, he regularly conducts mediations in both parenting and financial matters. Bruce is also an arbitrator.

Since being called to the Bar in 2017, Bruce has been consistently recognised in the peer reviewed Doyle’s Guide, both as counsel and mediator.

A graduate of the University of Queensland in Arts and Law, Bruce was admitted as a solicitor in Brisbane, before practising for almost seven years in the United Kingdom, the last three as a partner. During his time in the United Kingdom, Bruce was appointed as a member of the Children’s Panel of the Law Society of England and Wales. His later practice in Brisbane included work as an Independent Children’s Lawyer.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Bruce had been a partner and then Special Counsel in a boutique family law firm in Brisbane. He was chairman of the Queensland Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee in Family Law. He was also previously a member of both the Society’s Family Law Committee and the Not Now, Not Ever Domestic Violence Working Group.

Bruce has presented and facilitated numerous papers and CPD events in family law.
